These days everyone is constantly worried about lowering their cholesterol. This is fine and all, but most people go about it the wrong way. They eat what they want, then on the backside try to lower their cholesterol. This is just plain nuts. Instead, try reading this article and lowering your cholesterol by not eating high cholesterol foods. This article is designed to aid you in the fight high cholesterol by arming you with the knowledge that you need to know in order to win the battle.

Let's be real. If you take a Twinkie and deep fry it, then the Twinkie is not responsible for your high cholesterol. You are. It would be nice if we could just eat what we wanted and when we go to bed at night all our weight problems and bad cholesterol would just melt away. However, we live in the land of reality and that just is not going to happen. We live in a land where we are constantly surrounded by high cholesterol foods. They are in our face everyday, begging for us to eat them. There is no way to remove them from our surroundings.

Therefore, it is up to us to avoid high cholesterol foods. The first thing that you need to do is sit down with your doctor and the two of you need to make a list of foods that you need to avoid in your daily diet. You will be surprised that when you sit down and start to go over the list that many foods you thought were safe actually are more harmful to you then you would think.

Now, after you have a clear picture of what foods you can and cannot eat you will need to sit down and decide which ones that you absolutely must have in your diet and which ones you can eliminate altogether. The truth is that it is almost impossible for you to completely eliminate all bad foods from your diet, unless you go on a diet of boiled grass. You will need to consume some high cholesterol foods. The trick is to balance the good with the bad and find a common medium that you and your doctor can both agree on.

I hope that this article has been of some usefulness to you in trying to eliminate the high cholesterol foods from your diet, or at the very least cut down on them drastically. High cholesterol foods are nice to enjoy every now and again but remember as with all things that are enjoyable, moderation is key.

As someone who has just found out that I have high cholesterol, caused by my genes apparently not my diet, I was interested to read your article. I was surprised by the cholesterol level in some foods such as shrimps as I had no idea it was so high. Even though my high cholesterol level is not from my diet I'm trying to cut out high cholesterol foods as much as I can so it's important, as you say, to find out the cholesterol level in common foods and to decide which ones you can eliminate.
